i am assuming you are talking about the edge of the atmosphere of earth. some people have confused me here. i don't know if that is possible since there isn't a fine line between space and the atmosphere, earths atmosphere starts gradually and gets denser after about a few km into earth i think. it could be more or less, but its like a gradient line, it starts as black, lighter black, gray, lighter gray and white. so you wont notice the difference until you go deeper into the dark side or deeper into the bright side. if you had a very long hand though you could probably feel the difference between nothing and everything. that would be awesome.

First thing you have to understand is that .........space is like the Earth. The people of medieval/ancient thought that if you went to the the end of the world and went further, you would fall out of the Earth. Not so. Now common sense tells us it is impossible to 'fall out' unless we go fast enough on a rocket.
It is the same with space. The whole universe is curved into itself that ....that trying to find the edge of space would be like going on a never ending quest. Space is infinite.
If against impossibility you are able to put your hand through the edge of space, ......lets just say you can exist as long as you occupy 'space'. So you will cease to exist.

Your arm would have to be 40 Billion Light Years long just to reach out to the fartherest distance that we can see objects. Even then, that is not the end of space, that is just as far as we can see with our current level of optical and radio telescopes.
Note: If your arms are that long, good luck on finding shirts that will fit you at K Mart.

You can't. Space is being created at the edge. You are assuming that there is something that space is expanding into. Not so.

Matter requires the existence of space.
If you stuck your hand out of the universe it wouldn't exist any more, but you might bleed like hell!

If you can't define the "edge of space", you can't put your hand through it.
