29. convert to y=mx+b. move 10x to the other side and then divide by -9. the coefficient of x is the slope.
33. if x is the units per hour and the employee works 17 units per hour, put 17 in for x in the equation and solve.
35. since the slope is the coefficient of x then the slope is 5 and since b is the y-intercept and there is no b in the equation it is automatically 0.

Use the following formula for problems 29 and 35:

y = mx + b

m = slope
b = y-intercept

#33 is just a matter of substitution.

29. Convert to y = mx + b format:
-9y = -10x + 13
y = 10/9x - 13/9
slope = 10/9
y-intercept = -13/9

33. Substitute 17 for x:
y = (0.8)(17) + 10
y = 13.6 + 10
y = 23.6

35. slope = 5, y-intercept = 0

29. Isolate the y
-9y = -10x +13
y= 10/9x + 13/9

33. Substitute 17 for x in the equation!

Gee dave, do your own homework.
29. Convert to y= mx + b format. m is slope
33. substitute 17 for x
35. You have y=mx + b (b=0), so what is slope?
