Usually a 6 month old baby will eat 6 times a day or every 4 hours. Offer this baby 5oz of formula at first. If the baby is not satisfied offer the baby RICE cereal mixed with the formula. Make the bottle "soupy" so the baby can still suck from the bottle. You may have to enlarge the nipple. I would give the RICE with formula 3 times a day.........breakfast.......lunch.........dinner. I hope this has helped as you did not give very much information regarding the baby........it's weight..........did you adopt? CONGRATULATIONS !!!! Good Luck !!!

It's been a while, but I think this is reasonable, and if the baby wants more or less they will tell you. Maybe 4oz of formula after a bowl of rice cereal (1/2 c) mixed with a little formula & 1/2 jar baby food (like applesauce or green beans, just don't try spinach unless you want to wear it after baby spits it out). Do this 3X a day, in between baby can munch on soda crackers and cut up soft fruit if so inclined. Then right before bed, let her/him have another 4 oz or so of formula.

Pay attention. When the baby starts to play, he's done. There's no reason to encourage him/her to eat more than they want.

The baby is usually the best gauge on how much to feed them. As a general rule with both my kids when they were 6 months, I feed them every four hours or so, 8 ounces of formula. But if they didn't seem interested, I didn't feed them.

when my daughter was 6 months i fed her at least 6 ounces of formula. that doesnt mean she ate all of it you can tell when they are full. make sure to burp or your baby will have a sore stomach and end up spitting up. as far as food goes start out slow and work your way up. your baby will tell you when she/he is hungry. when she cries and diapers, play and rocking doesnt work shes probably hungry. babys always know what they need.
