My cichlids are getting old now and im purchasing a 55 gallon long aquarium for them. Now, lucky me, I have my 20 H aquarium with bio-wheel filter and standared heater to do whatever the hell I want to do with it. SO; I want to do a marine tank. I was thinking that I wanted to do a couple common clowns, a type of goby, a small starfish, a peppermint shrimp and some type of angel (either flame, coral beauty or lemon peal). Do you think this may be a good mix? What are some other cool fish (peaceful) that I could put in a 20 gallon H aquarium! Oh, and I was going to do live rock, with a crushed coral and live-sand substrate with corals and maybe an annenomme. Is this a good Idea? HELP!

It is important to keep "compatible fish". So if you like clownfish, I suggest you keep other small and unaggressive fish like coral beauties, gobys, cardinals, orioles, tangs and the like. It is also a good idea to mix fish that dwell on the tank bottoms with those who prefer the upper and middle regions of the tank. A couple of reef dwellers would be nice as well. Do consider that a 55 gallon tank is not a very large one for a Marine Tank so better not put in too many fish.

till that exchange into all you have been making plans on retaining i might in basic terms do one clownfish as a exchange of a pair Damsels are severe-high quality yet somewhat too territorial for a small tank A crimson headed or orchid dottybak might the the only 2 i might evaluate for this tank, yet any form of gobies, firefsh, jawfish, or gramma would desire to artwork carry on with purely 2-3 small fish

That sounds like too many fish to me. You may also want to consider upgrading your filtration to a canister filter. A 20 gal micro reef could probably support a pair of clowns and a small cleanup crew. Best of luck to you

20 gallon is way to small for what you have planned. Seriously, maybe the starfish and the shrimp only. I wouldn't do it.
