The hole thug loving think is out of hand. Black girls(NOT ALL BLACK GIRLS FOR YOU PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SAY I DONT LOVE THUGS) but anyway to MANY black girls like thugs aka losers because it shows power but bad power but power none the less.We need positive black men in the medie that are not rappers or envolved in sports because young black men only want to became a athlete or a rappers NOT ALL. Ive been told im not black enough by black girls to become there boyfriend gasp big surprise! then people wonder why GOOD black men go to white women. So I say BET has to go it shows stereotypes of us that sadly i see alot out in public. Also stop trying to find scapegoats for our bad deeds! Yes othere races have bad deeds but im black so i dont care about what goes on in othere communities. SO how do we fix the bull???

It may come as a true surprise to both
you and may other people to discover
that the 'BET' cable network station
(just like that of the Latino-focused networks
-- such as 'Telemundo', 'Univision', etc.)
IS actually owned, operated and controlled
by a largely WHITE-OWNED company
(this ‘ownership’ includes the majority of
the stockholders and board of directors);
some of it's largest subscribers are
*non*-‘blacks’; and that a huge number
of 'black' people have openly protested
it's existence and programming for years
(largely due to it's offensive videos and it’s
perpetuation of racist-stereotypes, etc.).

Many years ago the network actually was
owned by an 'black' man -- (who was
said to have started it as an ‘educational’
network in order to educate and encourage
the ‘black’ youth to seek to better their lives)
– but once he died, it was taken over by a
White corporation which totally changed
its’ original goal and a great deal of it’s
programs (such as the ‘youth’ shows, etc.)

After that, it lost a large percentage of it's
'black' audience and it began pandering
to the racist stereotyping of ‘black’ people
(in an apparent attempt to boost ratings).

Since the majority of it’s viewers today
are *non*-'black' and since most people,
mistakenly assume and believe that
’BET’ it is a 'black'-owned network
(when, in reality, it – much like “rap” and
“hip-hop” -- IS actually WHITE-'OWNED')
outside of the 'black' protests against it –
very little seems to be being done openly
about changing it; and / or removing it
or any of the offensive programming on it.

I understand your pain .I went to a ghetto middle school last year and 56% children were failing .The boys liked to fight girls, they fought all the time, the teachers played favorites, the boys smoked weed in the bathroom.
Ileft the school because I never went to such a school as that .

Al the school I've been to have been civilized ,educating ,and enjoyable. But the catch is the schools were majority white. You can't fix the bull because they don't want to change.

No one can tell me that I'm a sale out for what I just said because I no who I am ,and I've all my life in the hood and I know first hand what goes on.But not all african -americans are hoodrats and ignorant. Its just that all the negativity overshadows the possitivity.

You have been agreed with. Bravo! I am black. I love listening to rock music and studying. I like having conversations and i hate the thug thing! The thing that makes me most angry is that people always have to assume that i am black and that i HAVE to do the thug, gangster, hip-hop stuff because of my colour. Many black people i know kind of dress up like thugs and they all laughed at me and looked and me wondering why i listen to MCR and Evanescence etc. It irritates me that they think they can be cool because rappers do so too and they got money.

But i am glad to have black male's as roll models. We have some, Martin Luther King for example, he wasn't a thug, he was fighting for equality. And then you got many more who haven't gotten into gang fights etc.

I appreciate you bringing up this issue AND telling us that you do not mean ALL black women. It means a lot to me. I don't mind what race you can be or what colour you can be when you fall in love with someone. Any person can act like a thug, no matter what race, trust me. You have just seen some of the black girls who have no proper motivation in life whatsoever. I hate the stereotypes they have of black people, i really do. Then that's the stereotype in America but it crosses over to Europe too, where i live. I don't know how you have to fix that, i guess it's all up to those individuals who do all of that. It's something beyond our control. Bad influences and poverty are the key things to that.

great question.

i agree with you. i often try to figure out why the thug/gangster lifestyle and mentally is so important to the black community. they could be so much more than rappers and athletes, but very few aspire to do so. they would much rather do drugs and live the glorified prison worthy lifestyle that they see in music videos and hear in songs. in my opinion, it's just wrong. i hate to see so many people wasting their lives in that way. there is more to life than drugs, guns, money, and sex.

i was often told that i wasn't black enough. family and friends always said i was 'white'. i didn't care. black and white are only colors in my view...colors don't define who you are.

I agree. i am white and i hate rap. However we have a huge criminal element in the white community too, the main difference is most white families don't look up to trailer trash meth mouths with scraggly hair and bad teeth. no matter how much $$$$$ they make

Im having a hard time understanding your question and the reasoning behind your conclusions. Maybe you could clean up your paragraph a bit so it would be easier to answer. Thanks!
