The best right now I would have to say Derek Jeter but of all time I would have to say the top five would be........
1. Shoeless Joe Jackson-best all around player the game had ever know
2. Ted Williams-best pure hitter
3. Lou Gherig-best defensive player
4. Eddie Cicote( Thirty wins in a season how could he not be on it have of todays pitchers can't win twenty)
5. Pete Rose- Damn what a hitter

Jose Reyes is my favorite player, i am a die hard Mets fan and have been lucky enough to see him develop into a possible MVP candidate. He has the ability to control of a game with his glove, bat, and legs. He is quite possibly the fastest and most exciting player in Major League baseball. He loves the game and doesn't take it for granted, always smiles and has a great time with it. If you do not like him, check your pulse...

Mike Lowell.. This is a guy who was traded with Josh Beckett and was a throw in. No one expected him to do much more than take a roster spot. He was selected to the All Star team this year. They say you have to be good or lucky. I think he is both.
