I have seen on TV shows such as "Good Morning American" that you should discard mascara between 3 and 6 month. To never keep it longer than 6 months. You are also not supposed to pump the brush in and out of the tube as that forces air into it and that brings in bacteria.

My mother told me the rule of thumb is 3 months. Bacteria can end up growing on it from touching your eyes and skin.

no it dosent depend on the brand any mascara is good for 4-6 months!!!! and a really good mascara is mary kay lash lenthening or waterproof!!!!

about 2 years. But i read in a magazine that if it goes bad just add 2 drops of olive oil to the it

well they recomend gettting new mascara every 3 months cuz batercia biulds up and u can get an infection.

i would not keep it longer than 3 months. also it helps to keep your mascara in the fridge- it keeps it from clumping
