We keep having to remind you guys about Clinton, your
brains are so shot by so much dope that you fail to remember
any of what he did do. I will admit that Clinton did a couple
of things that I was happy for.

1.) The defense of Marriage act defining a marriage as being
between one man and one woman.

2.) The Iraq Liberation Act, supporting regime change in Iraq

Bill Clinton himself has made speeches about Iraq having
Weapons of Mass Destruction, in fact Clinton himself
bombed Iraq for 4 days and in an interview of Madeleine
Albright, killed some 500,000 civilians, she stated that
that was an acceptable number (worth it).

The only thing I blame Clinton was for not going on further
we probably would not be in this mess we are in today.

By the way, Bills advisers told Bill not to go in to Iraq
because it was at the time of the Monica scandal was
going on and people might get the idea that the bombing
would be an attempt to deflect away from that.

So while that may be true, I still think he did the right thing
he just stopped to soon.

I take exception to aquamarine suggesting that Libby didn't deserve his commutation (it was a commutation of sentence NOT a pardon). Libby was a pawn in a power struggle in Washington. Now he doesn't have to go to jail but still has to pay the fines, do the service, and wear the "felon" badge -- unlike the drug dealers, terrorists, and pedophiles Clinton pardoned.

Not that I think "Clinton did XXX" is a reasonble "excuse" or "reason" for thinking that Bush's version of XXX is ok. It is important to have some consistancy.

Everytime a Republican tries to do some forward thinking, he is shot down. For example... social security reform. We all know it needs to be done, but no one is willing to let anything happen. Republicans at least have a plan and ideas to fix the problem though, whereas Democrats just want to leave the status quo. Same goes for Medicare.

Q:"What do Republicans have to offer except for "Clinton did xxx"? "
A: Nothing. Just ignoring their base then calling them bigots.

Q:"Is there any kind of progressive forward thinking present anywhere today in the Republican party?"
A: No, that's the fantasy playground of the Demagogue Party.
The Republican Party doesn't stand for anything anymore. If they did, it would be lower taxes, smaller government and eliminating wasteful socialist spending.

Well whats worse. An ad hominim attack by saving Bush is an idiot or someone saying, well Clinton did it too.

The personal attack is based on opinion and hatred. the second example is based on fact with an attempt at showing hypocrisy.

Memories are short for anyone that takes a total "my way or the highway "stance. There's enough bad coming from ALL politicians to satisfy the most hate fueled opinions.

Both side act like kids when it comes to name calling.

I'm a moderate Republican and I agree. Just because Clinton did something, doesn't excuse it for Bush. And I am far from being a Clinton fan. His pardons were just as bad as Bush commuting Libby's sentence.
