So I have an ATV tire (9x12x25) that inflates but loses air after about 2-3 days and I am thinking of using SLIME tire sealant to see if that helps. I figure that will be cheaper than buying a new tire for about $60. Any thoughts or recommendations? I have a 16 oz. bottle of SLIME.

for me personally i have never had a tire go flat after i used slime But first you need to make sure you got the right bottle, you need the bottle with the rubber bits in it because those seal up any holes in your tire.

I agree with the valve stem replacement - check that first. IT could even be the pin inside the valve stem that's loose ( they sell pin tighteners at Wal Mart for a couple bucks). I also agree with the idea of putting the tire in water to see where, if any bubbles rise. Then you know the source of your leak. You can plug your tire and off you go. If you use the SLIME, and it doesn't fix your leak - you WILL have to replace your tire, so it is not recommended unless as a last resort.

1. Find the hole
2. Plug it with a plug kit if you can
3. If it's a tubed tire, bike tube patch kits work very well.
4. Last resort: SLIME. It'll ruin your wheel, AND your tire. Not recommended

It couldn't hurt.
If the tire still leaks after putting in the slime, you should be able to see where the leak is and plug the tire.
It's OK to plug an ATV tire, but never plug a street bike tire.

first take off the tire and look for leaks ( soak it in a bucket of water or spray FANTASTIC around the tire untill you find a leak. plug the leak. if its a tubeless and it's loosing air around the rim deflate the tire and smear grease around the inside of the rim so it creats a "gasket" for where the tire meets the rim. if it has a tube try to find the leak and use a tire tube patch kit. if that doesnt do it try replacing the valve stem cap and parts. (i forget what it's called, maybe the core, can't remember...) if all that doesnt work use the SLIME.

The tire fix place lied, heating a tire motives halo-butyl rubber to fail to seal the tire. they did no longer choose to handle the slime going everywhere while they broke the bead. additionally, slime makes it approximately impossible to stability a tire. It exchange into ment to be utilized in autos that are no longer pushed on-street.

first i would try changing the valve stem core. if that does not help , try removing the wheel and tire and submerging it in a tub of water and look for air bubbles. or just put the SLIME in .
