The DB version is just an illusion where you stand on one tiptoe while the foot in front is raised a few cm. Here's how to do it 4 real! You need a linear induction motor with 3 phase 120deg supply and a pair of aluminium shoes. By mutual induction and Lenz's Law the opposing mag fields will simultaneously levitate you and sweep you along! Watch your balance though! For static levitation create a room temp ceramic superconductor, wear magnets in your shoes and up you go. This is due to the meisner effect. There is as yet no method for excluding the gravitational field from materials, to allow 'true' levitation.

Its really simple lol
I forgot the website to it, but if you search it on Yahoo, you'll come across it.

Stand with your feet side by side and make sure your audience is directly behind some distance away.
Now do your "show thing" by pretenting its an extremely difficult act as to make people more easy to believe you and build up anticipation.
Slowly rise your feet (heres the tricky part), you most stand on your toes for one of your feet, while you lift the other off the ground completely.

From the behind (at an angle away from the feet you plan to stand on), it will look as though you are off the ground with both your feet when you are actually on your toes with one.

Must wear something like baggy pants I think.

Notice how Blaine's audience are always behind him and camera never shows his feet from the front?

Make sure your feet are leveled with each other at the end. So that you dont look like you are staying on your toes with one.

Then fall and (your acting skills coming in play again) pretend that you are totally exhausted after defying gravity.

It takes a lot of practice to get it right. Have fun!

The answer is to be found in Douglas Adams classic series the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy (NOT THE FILM). It's very simple, while you are falling forget that you are falling and concentrate on something else. Arthur Dent was falling off a cliff when he noticed his blue bag next to him and started floating. But when he realised this he started falling again.

Levitation is sometimes called a Treasure Siddhi. Basically, it is something to keep secret, because otherwise the ability to levitate could become an egocentric activity.

Find a very high cliff or building. Hurl yourself from the top and experience several seconds of weightlessness before putting the rest of us out of your misery.

Oh, and don;t shout 'levitate'. If you're a Dalek, the word you want is 'elevate'.

it's really simple. look on some youtube videos and they will show you. The trick is, you basically have to angle yourself with whoever is seeing you. Put your feet together and then lift up with one foot and make sure the audience only sees the foot that stays normal.

Just shout "levitate!" in a robot voice. It works for the Daleks.
