didn't the courts rule that it was illeagal to profit from a crime by selling your story?

and if so why are they letting paris hilton do it????she is selling her felioney DUI /JAIL story for 1MILLION

No, they did not. That is not a law. Period. A person may be sued individually and enjoined from doing so. However, unless someone were to sue Paris to keep her from doing so, she is legally allowed to do it. (Also, no one would have a cause of action against her for it.)
