I should say right now that I'm not asking for your favourite baby names (I have no intentions of even getting married, let alone having children). I'm just curious about some of those awful names that you would never once consider giving a kid, or that you met someone with and wondered "who would name their kid that?". There's one in particular that I can think of- Kermit! It used to be a fairly common name, but I think the great Jim Henson ensured that it would never be a popular name again... (For kids, anyway; I'm sure it's a lovely name for pet frogs.)

As you may have guessed, my real name is not Lycanthrope777 (yeah "mi g"- nice name that is...), nor is it "Lycanthrope" or any variation of that word (knowing what a lycanthrope is, I can't imagine any parents naming their kid that...). By the way, a girls' name that I think is just horrible is Gay- I have an aunt with that as her middle name.

I'm surprised at how many people don't like the name Beatrice (must not be fans of A Series of Unfortunate Events). I don't really mind Alonzo as a cat's name (Alonzo happens to be the name of a main character in the musical CATS), but I can see how kids would get teased for it...

Alfonso,for a boy I absoloutley dont like,
Thelma for a girl, it is my mother inlaws name and she even likes it so much she goes by her middle name, she used to get teased and called Elmer Fudd.
For some reason I am not keen on The names of the royal Family either it drives me nuts when I see children being named William Charles and the like but I like Will and Charlie just not the full versions and not as 1st and middle names together. I would also never name a child Megan, its my sisters name anyway but have never had a nice encounter with a Megan

I come from a country inn Africa where black people went crazy giving their kids horrible names when they sorta learnt how to speak english. I know people called:
Nomore Sixpence
Lovejoy Pretty
Norest Warning
Boneface Leisure
Brain Incyclopidia(note the spelling)
Bigboy
Clever
This is the truth, honest. So obviously I wouldnt give my children any of the names as well as the names Sally, Mary, Margot, Todd, Jordan, Jason, Case...

pretty much of someone famous has named their child it, its bad. I admit there have been a few decent one. Apple was an iffy one but it grows on you and Britney had good intentions but the call them by their 1st and middle names is a bit much. I think that naming your chilc Crystal (yes thats my name) is cruel and inusual punishment as well as Tammy, Misty and other white trash straight outta the trailer park names. Something about Misty just screams white trash. (no offense to those with these names, I'm crackin on mine too) My poor brother is Elmer, yes ELMER!!! He has went by RJ, always and even had his little cards at graduation say RJ. The only thing that states his actual name are his Driver License and birth certificate. What in the snot was our mom smoking when she named us????? Of course her name is Penny....... One of the worst ever Celebrity names~ Julia Roberts son Phineaus. Uck!

While everybody thought of some pretty hideous names, I think they've missed some equally horrible ones. What about Hortense, Gertrude, Clarabelle, Geraldine, Henrietta, Juanita, Gladys, Hazel, Minnie, Homer, Dick, Willie, Alonzo, or Zebediah?

I think of all the dumb names celebrities use like Suri (No offence Katie Holmes) I could probably find a few others.. but.. my uncle has an interesting name that I love saying but I would never use.. Otis Carl Mackadu (Not sure of the spelling of Mackadu) more like a mackadon't!! HAHA! Anyhow he hated it and in fact burned his birth certificate and changed his name to Mack.

Eustace. It rhymes with useless for goodness' sake.
Floyd, especially for a girl. I kid you not, my dad tried to convince my mom to name me Floyd. She didn't go for it, thank God.
Anything impossible to spell, most names that start with the letter O (not including Olivia, but Olive or Olga? Ugh.)
Any name with an apostrophe or a capital in the middle of their name, like ReBeka or GRant.
Those are just some, but there are a lot of old fashioned names that just overflow with that "ancient grandparent" feeling. Ethel, Maude, etc.
Flavius. Sounds like too much like Flavored, and for a guy's name, that just sounds bad. I know a few people named that, and for one of them it's there first name. His parents were insane.
Also, I would never name anyone a common nickname, like Ted, or Bob or Nat, or Kate. If they get nicknames from their original names, that's one thing, but to stand for nothing? That's just boring.

ARE YOU MY COUSIN? I have an aunt with the middle name Gay. lol.
Other awful names: Archibald. Henrietta. Gertrude. Betsy. Randalf. Chauncy. Marge. Leroy. Lesbia (found that one in a baby name book! I swear!). Lavoris. Olga. Helga. Vreeland.
Okay. I'll stop. Awful-name spotting is fun. My name is bad enough...my middle name is Gray, last name Hare.

I was at a party as a teen, one that I had no business being at. There was a beautiful little girl, about 5 or 6, named Mary. Well, come to find out, her name was not MarY. It was Mari, middle name Juana......
Mari Juana
I was the only one who thought that was horrible. I was also the only one who did not do drugs.
