I want a visual of how the earth rotates around the sun. Also, i'd like to know if the sun itself rotates? I really want to get a better understanding of everything. I was told today that many of the stars are actually bigger in size than earth. Is this true? I just want to find more info on everything. I'm a visual type of guy. I learn better if I see. Any suggestion on videos or documentaries? I just don't understand everything in this rotating system. Please don't laugh. You can't knock a guy for wanting to learn.

Carl Sagen made a lot of videos on this subject. Maybe someone sells them.

You have some excellent questions. Thank you for posting them.

NASA has a Solar System Exploration website you might want to spend some time visiting:
http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/index.cfm?Display=Flash

There are many other videos and other multimedia presentations on http://solarsystem.nasa.gov as well.

Yes, the Sun rotates. We know because the Sun spots move across the face of the sun.

All stars are bigger than the Earth. Our own Sun is an average-size star, and many stars are much, much larger than ours. Our sun is much larger than the Earth.

The Earth rotates about its axis once, a day, and orbits around the Sun once a year. The Moon orbits around the Earth once a month. Our clocks and calendars are based on the rotation and orbit of the Earth.

I hope this helps.

Dear Sir:

No one is laughing.
Please do a search on the Internet using the key words:
Curious About Astronomy
If you do that, you will find a link to a Web Site developed by Cornell University for people who have an interest in Astronomy. All kinds of information is presented in great detail with even a section similar to Yahoo's Question and Answer section. It is a really good site for those with desire to improve their understanding of Outer Space.
