Although you don't say so i assume that this is the cdi. engine.
If this is the case then be ready for some bad news. The injectors in cdi engines are very prone to sticking in . In the past i have tried most things to move them.Mercedes do a tool for removing them that fits to a slide hammer. We have had that tool on the end of a pulley chain and lifted the van up with it and the injector still did'nt move. If you can get the injector moveing (bet it's number one) from side to side then you are in with a chance if not then get ready to pay. The only way to save the engine is to remove the head and hope you can find sombody to drill the injector out(not easy as the injectors are hardened) To remove the head you will have smash the rocker cover off the engine from round the injector.Them remove head as normal. Price head(If injector won't move) and injector first you are in for a shock. The very best of luck.

OM617 motor? I betcha most likely the heat shields are stuck. Saturate the pesky injector with liquid wrench, then use a tall 27mm socket (use a 1/2" drive) and using an extension, slowly crank it off...

i assume that you have a 27mm deep socket and breaker bar [the torque on this is only 56 ft. lbs. [carbon may have it , so once you get it to budge go back and forth with it till it free's up ] always use a new glow shield and a good torque wrench when you go back with it.
pb blaster may help once it starts moving
