There is no doubt about it! They deserve to make much more than they do too! I am so very thankful to all the teachers that helped me face the challenges in life after school. It is definetly the most admirable position a person can have in my opinion. My sweetheart is a terriffic teacher and I appreciate the hard work she has put in over the years and all the teachers out there too! I raise my glass and make a toast to all the teachers in humble thanks!

Have you guys seen how much teachers make in socialized States like CA? And for only nine months' work with a three-month vacation? And they mostly teach (preach) more government dependence, multiculturalism garbage and socialism, while complaining they aren't paid enough! Get real! And in college...talk about the Ivory Tower. Most professors aren't living on the same planet as those who work in the real world. They believe in Karl Marx and Che Guevara as the greatest things since the age of the monkeys. Most teachers and professors today live and work in Fantasy Land. They think we all should be working for the government in some communist Utopia. Why did the Soviet Union fall? Try this...the biggest joke circulating around Russia at the time was: "We pretend to work and the government pretends to pay us." Figure it out.

I definitely do believe that teachers make the world go round, the ones that are inspiring and caring that is. I mean, what makes doctors, engineers, nurses etc who they are today...teachers, right ?! Teachers are always teaching no matter if their teaching to a bunch of kids or adults in medical school. We need teachers.

As a teacher... I love seeing all of the responses!! I'm not so naive to believe that without teachers the world would stop..... but I know how important my teachers were to me.... how often I stop and think of them as I make decisions..... and I know the influence they had over me was extreme. I'm so so glad you feel as you do! When we get parents that feel that way... the partnership becomes magical!! Teachers AND parents help make the kids's world go round. *wink*

I agree! I come from a looong line of teachers and, at the age of thirty-something, I have gone back to school so I can teach! I can't wait until I get into a classroom!

Yes the Good ones are great. But the ones at our school cuss the kids out and dance topless on the week-ends for extra money.
This is no lie and they are telling our kids about it.
It really makes the good ones look bad.

To answer the question...No, I don't think teachers have the most admirable position...Everyone's job is important...I don't value any one over another! :)
