You know those new tops the girls are wearing?....that are kinda tight on top and then tie around the waist and then are poofy on the bottom? well, I like those and Ive tried on a bunch of them. But they kinds look like maternity clothes and make me look puffy, so I dont buy them. I recently found one with much less "poof" on the bottom, and it was cute, so I bought it.
I'm just worried about looking kinda big in the top, since its loose on the waist area. I'm gonna wear skinny jeans with it, so that should help. And the top doesn't look TOO much like maternity clothes. Haha!
So, do any of you ladies have this problem? I'm sure you do, because that is the style of the top and its cute, but you don't wanna look big. Any suggestions?

You may think that they make you look fat or pregnant, but they are meant to make you look smaller if you are bigger. Paired with skinny jeans will make you look even smaller. Yes, I do agree that they look similar to maternity clothing, but that is the style right now. If you don't like it, don't wear it.

I don't necessarily think that baby doll tops make you look big. Especially is you have a small waist, it shows that off. However, if you don't feel confortable enough in a top like that, then pairing skinny jeans with it is a nice way to balance it out. Another alternative is that you can buy one of those tighter tops with a belt around the waist.

i am already a curvy girl, and whenever I try those tops on or wear skinny jeans i feel like I am wearing maternity wear.
consequently i just don't wear that fad.

I wouldn't wear it with skinny jeans b/c they will make you look top heavy (no offense) try a capris and a pair of wedges

i have a couple of babydoll tops, and they don't look puffy unless i jump up and down. i wear them with skinny jeans and ballet flats too.

you are right with the skinny jeans only wear those tops with skinny jeans and you should be fine.

It's an awful fashion choice. Reminds me of when I wore baggy sweaters with stirrup pants back in the day.
