I've never heard of the Venus sisters. Now I am not sure if you've heard of the Williams sisters, but I love those two. They are such amazing champions. Their contribution to tennis is really significant. Who would have thought that women’s tennis could get more popular than it was during the Steffi Graff years? Venus and Serena came along and changed men’s and women’s tennis. Obviously, women on the WTA tour had to start really conditioning their bodies like athletes should because the Williams sisters were immensely superior to the other players physically. While there were indeed guys with big serves before Venus and Serena came along, people began questioning the men’s game because of them. I remember everyone crying foul because these girls took the sport seriously like Navratilova did and succeeded in surpassing the whole women’s tour. It's funny that the women now realize that all they have to do is exercise to stand a chance physically but it is a really good thing to have the WTA improve as a whole.

Also, Venus has proven herself to be a champion off the court as well. She is largely credited with getting the officials at both Wimbledon and the French Open to agree to equal pay for women. Billy Jean King started this fight a long time ago but Venus really closed the deal. Venus persevered and spoke quite eloquently about the matter and wrote what was a very smart essay that embarrasses the officials at Wimbledon especially.

I love the Williams sister because they are fantastic role models for anyone who has ever faced adversity. They are like a light house for every drifter who is trying to tread water in their own lonely Sargasso Sea.

I think you mean the William sisters. Yes I do from a sporting
and athletic point of view. They play great tennis in current
tennis arena, but I am not so sure about their sportsmanship
when they loose the game, specially Serena.
They compete very well in modern tennis and I care less about
their personal affairs. BTW, Venus is set to win her next Wimbledon trophy with the prize money....
Go William sisters.

I hear you "I_know_nothing". the remarks about these two fine women who represent the people both women and men of this country from every walks of life in such a positive manner is being degraded and torn down by the same people they represent. it's always about their looks and attitude. I wish I never see questions like those again as it is selling a sad story about us as a people. I am from another country and culture and it scares me to think what they would do to me. I LOVE VENUS AND SERENA WILLIAMS. Never have I seen two finer specimen. They move on the court like they are performing a dance. They are very competitive and it shows in their games. Luckily they have each other for support and it seems a loving family as well. I wish them all the success and strength to endure because they need it.

I like the Williams sisters. I think they are good role models. They're inspirational to young girls wanting to get into sports and still be GIRLS. Nothing wrong with a girly girl being into sports ;)

And no, they did not start the grunting thing. Check out Monica Seles.

Why wouldn't people not like them? What makes them any different from other tennis players? Out of all the tennis players, what makes them different? I swear, racism these days.

People need to stop being so jealous because the sister's can have other hobbies outside of tennis. And just because they do does not mean they don't like the sport. What a stupid thing to say.

I like their play but the arrogance has to go, oh wait they're American and are supposed to be arrogant. What American men are dominating in tennis now? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I just wish as another person said they would concentrate on tennis. Do all the fashion design as your fall back when you stop playing tennis but for now they are all we have in America to win slams, male or female.
