So I have had some pain in my right ovary for about 2 1/2 weeks now. The pain is getting worse and now when I move certain ways the pain shoots down my right leg with a tingling sensation. I can manage just fine, but a little uncomfortable.

I recently moved and do not yet have an OB/GYN. I called 27 doctors off my insurance list today and no one can see me until the second week of August. Do you think it is okay to wait or is this cause to go to a hospital? I don't want to be an alarmist, but at the same time I am concerned.

One of most common causes of ovarian pain are functional cysts. They can be excrutiating, but are benign. An ultrasound would confirm the diagnosis. Pain management would be nice. At least take something for the pain. If you check WebMD and other trusted sources, you will find that it is usually not serious, just very uncomfortable.

On the other hand, you could be having appendicitis, abdominal blockage, referred pain from somewhere else, etc. If you have a fever, vomit, or other syptoms, see someone promptly.

Best of luck. "Check my symptoms" on WebMD symptom checker is a good resource to help narrow down what might be going on. Good luck

Go to the ER. They will see you There are lots of reasons of ovarian pain, on your right side it could be appendix, especially if it shots down your leg. It could be an irritated ovary, which is common in summer cause girls stay in water longer than it is recommended, it could be an ovarian cyst or even an intestinal infection. All of them, except the intestinal infection could be seen on ultrasound. Don't sit and wait. Appendix is too dangerous to sit and wait

I would question whether the pain is actually in your ovary given your description! Maybe see a general doctor before you go down the ob/gyn route.

You need to have this looked at, as it could be a syst or blood clot. (especially if you currently, or recently took birth control.) These are treatable, however could get much worse if neglected. Go to the ER!!

Sounds like you're pregnant, or trying to get pregnant....could be an ectopic pregnancy too...you need to see the doctor if you haven't already.
