I'm 25 years old. I can run about a block, then I vomit all over the pavement. I swim via rapid motions of my hand in front of my chest whilst kicking uncontrollably. I fall on my nose once I pass about 5 pushups. My eyes get watery with tears when I am ordered or reprimanded. What can I do to accomplish this goal?

If you are not over exaggerating, you are probably not what the SEALs are looking for. But, it is not out of reach.
First off, at 25, you need to start kicking *&$ right now. It sounds like it is going to take at least a year of hard core working out just get into shape to screen for BUD/S. Once you get into good enough shape to pass the screen test, then you need to enlist in the navy under the SEAL Challenge contract. This ensures you get the opportunity to screen for BUD/S and if you pass the physical you get orders. Along the way, do research. Google the crap out of the teams and community as a whole. There is allot of nonsense out there, but there is some good stuff to - including workout programs that will help you prepare. If you really can't swim, get lessons b/c they kinda expect you to know how to when you show up.
I know this is going to sound scary, but you are old. It's not too late though, but you got to get moving. If you were to start working out real hard today, then you would be ready at 26. If you complete every step of the training without any setbacks you could expect to check into a team by late 28 or early 29.
Don't be discouraged, get out there and do it.

well your going to have to do a lot of work before you can even consider joining the military... you should start running and working out a lot because you do know that being a seal... will mean that you are the navys top of the line soilder right? i mean they go through a tough and brutal school before they get to be called a seal... then after that if you have made it and not failed.. due to broken knees, arms, sickness, etc.... you will always have to be at your top shape cause they will more than likely send you over to the desert or anywhere they will need the seals.... i hope this helps... and i hope you could accomplish your lifelong dream....

Wow what some helpful replies. How about trying to get into contact with an ex-Navy Seal and asking them personally how they did it. You will have to work hard but someone who has been there could probably give you some tips.

Jesse Ventura was both a wrestler and a UDT . . . try contacting his agent and seeing if you can ask him for advice. He has to know about both performance and training techniques that could help you whether its not tearing up or lasting physically.

Good luck.

Seriously?

You need to seek therapy for the crying and then get a personal trainer and get that vitality up. Once you can run 15 miles at a good pace and swim 15 miles, you should be able to start your military career and reach navy seal

Wait until all the Middle East wars are done

Not now

They will let you be recruited on that wish and then will deploy you immediatly to the nearest death zone!

They don't have time for special training like that right now.

They just need more American targets for their so called al qaida to shoot at so they can keep their civil war going.

650,000 dead Iraqi's isn't enough - they want to thin each population down to about a million per Islamic Nation.

Zoo critters are not allowed in the US Navy. Stick to balancing that ball on your nose when you want a fish.

Join the Navy, DUH! What a silly question.
Oh, by the way, you are probably too old to join the SEALS anyway, so try something more realistic, like American Idol or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire...
