Because they think that one day they will be very rich and will be able to benefit from the Republican't parties agenda.

But, while they are struggling to get there, they want the laws to reflect their future agenda.

This would work if the laws pasted by "conservative" Republican'ts would work to get you there. They don't! They only help the people that are already rich. So these people stay in a vicious cycle, thinking that one day they'll be rich.

Of course, they also think that Dem's want to give the money away to people who are in need. If you vote Republican't, you give your tax dollars to private contractors in Iraq, or private contractors that help rebuild New Orleans. They would rather have their gov't stealing their hard earned tax dollars then to be held accountable for every dollar spent.

The best example of Republican't fiscal irresponsibility is the current administration, not to mention the failing policies of Reganomics.

Ok, do we assume this is a serious question? If so, there are generally three reasons.

First, something about the philosophy of the Republican party clicks with many middle class people. Not necessarily every part of the platform, but something. Usually its the idea of strong national defense, limited government, or the idea that personal responsibility is a virtue.

Second, most people have an opinion about whether one party is more corrupt than the other. If they believe the Democrats are more corrupt, the only other viable party is the Republicans.

and

Third, hard-working middle class people can still become very successful in this country by working hard, getting an education, and really applying themselves. Not everyone, but plenty of people. If a person believes they can achieve this, it is to their advantage to not knock the rich because if they work hard enough, they will be among the wealthy some day.

I'd say you are the ignorant one.

Democrats want to raise taxes on everything. Why do you think they protect the working class/ middle class, or any class?

How do socialist programs help the middle class? Do you realize if they socialize medical treatment, the taxes for the middle class would go up more than the cost of what private insurance is?

You are repeating liberal propaganda without looking into the facts. Democrats do not "protect the little people" like they may have 100 years ago. Times have changed.

Republicans are for free market enterprise, where anyone, especially the middle class can improve their life, as long as they work hard.

Take off the blindfold, and take a basic economics class at a local community college

Whoa...where are all of the Democrats? Working at middle class jobs? If taxes were the only issue, everybody would vote as a conservative, but it is not! The Republican party is big business...holding the reins are the rich (Bush and Cheney) and the wanna-be- rich. If anybody thinks those people align themselves with the middle class, they are easily duped. It's actually people like Bush and Cheney who threaten the demise of the middle class and would rather have just the rich and the poor. And, the gap widens!!!

Hmm, let's see... He's tough on terrorists, tax credits for working families and small businesses are great, helped my family a lot. President Bush has morals and values... Looks like you've tagged the wrong people with the title of "ignorant". Of course you'd have to actually be in the work force to appreciate all those attributes.

Because democrats economic policies sacrifice the middle class to the poor. Reagan got the tax structure to be moved whereas democrats left it as was and because of inflation soon everyone had to pay taxes because teh structure had been set up based on salaries in the 1940s.

With the Clean Air act in 1990, many small oil business went under because of regulations were written with bug business in mind as they the Democratic Congress saw that they could afford it and thougt little of the small companies.

Democrats only see the large corporate monsters and try to slay them. Not realizing that the collateral damage of their politicies sets up two America. Rich and poor.

The only people who get "Screwed" when a Republican takes office are the people who think the government needs to take care of them and their non-working families by using our tax dollars to fund entitlement. A huge socialist government need a lot of money to run..........so for me and my middle class family---we choose republican.

Why would any middle class vote democratic?? Middle class gets screwed the most when taxes go up and most get ZERO from the government!! They shouldn't vote republican either.

But to answer the question they would vote republican because they actually still believe they can get ahead with hard work and they hate paying taxes for poor people that don't work!

They seem to be completely unaware that republican economics only benefits the rich. Either that or they get taken in by the many distraction issues that are part of the republican party's M.O. for getting votes. Like abortion, gay marriage, or immigration. All tactics used to turn attention away from the real issues of the failing war and our upward spiraling high debt economy.

Because of the socialist policies of the Libs, They see the constitution as a fluid document and I see it as a statement.

The libs say tax the rich and give to the poor, Boy was I surprised to find out I was rich.
