Ok here goes...My last period was on June 8th-12th. Every night from the 12th to the 18th my boyfriend and I had sex (unprotected). He never came inside me, but he does have a lot of preejaculate fluid. Around the 22nd, I started cramping, like menstrual cramps, but extremely light, and then a few days after that I started getting sharp shooting pains in my breasts every now and then. My acne has gotten really bad, and I've lost my appetite, and every time I do eat, I don't need to vomit, but use the restroom. I was due for my period July 6th, but on the night of the 4th I had some really light bright red bleeding, and I haven't had any since then. My light cramping and sharp breast pains have continued. I went to the doctor yesterday and had a pelvic and breast exam, everything was fine. I guess I should also mention that 2 weeks ago, a doctor told me I was depressed. Every HPT I take says negative. So could this all be from stress and just in my head, or could I really be pregnant?

I guess I should also mention now that I had already been depressed for a long time, it just wasn't until a few weeks ago that I went to the doctor about it. And I've never had signs of my period 2 weeks before it came, and never had the sharp shooting breast pains either.

Pulling out method does not always work and should not be used as a form of birth control. My worry about you is what kind of medicine are you on for depression. Even if you are not pregnant but could get pregnant you need to be on something that is safe for the baby if you should get pregnant. I lost one baby because of nerve medicine and then refused to take any more because of it. Not good for everyone, but I handle my depression pretty good as long as my x stays away. I would only have a breakdown when he was around or if I go to stressed out.

However, you could be pregnant because some women have a bloody show when the embryo implants to the uterus wall and some women do not show up pregnant with a hpt they have to have a blood test to show. That would be my suggestion if you are on meds, is to press your doctor to do a blood test, better safe than sorry. I the mean time if you want kids start taking a prenatal vit, make sure your meds are safe for the baby and if you do not feel you are emotionally or phycially ready for a baby find anther form of birth control. A good one that I like was the Nova ring, you only replace it once a month. Great for me since I dont like pills.
good luck

When i had my oldest child I had very similar symptoms as you, I just didn't have the pains in the breasts. When I was due for my period it was just spotting on the pad.

A HPT can take up to two weeks after you are supposed to have your regular period to show a positive result. Also keep in mind that HPT's can be wrong however it has a higher chance of being negative when you are pregnant versus being positive when you are not. HPT's look for a certain type of chemical in your urine and very low levels of this chemical, say in very early pregnancy, may not lead to a positive reaction to the HPT urine strip.

Your best bet is to schedule an appointment with your/an OB/GYN to have a blood pregnancy test performed. They have a much greater accuracy rate than HPT's and then you can start your medical evaluations right away instead of waiting until there may be a potential problem.

Good Luck!!

Hello, well as far as you having unprotected sex, rememeber that from the day you get ur period , which was on the 8th all way to the 17th those are not fertile days, sum people might tell you 14 days, but its better to be within those 10 days. when you started cramping on the 22nd might be sings of your period, it would have been to soon for pregnancy symptoms, you dont get those until ur around 1 month or a month and half pregnant, sometimes when ur scared ur body changes, and you dont get ur period when supposed to, but its all in your head, stress and depression might also cause it. One time i was 4 months late, and during that time i was scared althought i had done pregnancy test, and they came out negative. My best advice to you is please start using protection, for you or your boyfriend. Don't do anything you might regret unless you really wanna get pregnant. remember you can become pregnant even with pre ***, so be wise and protect yourself ok

You still could be. Sometimes you get a false negative on hpt's. I took 7 of them all negative. I am pregnant anyway. If it IS stress, getting a blood test will ease your mind. See if your doctor will just order one for you. Then you can deal with it either way. Ask for some birth control while you're at it.

It is possible that you have stressed yourself into experiencing certain symptom. But, the symptoms you describe are not exactly characterisitcs of pregnancy.

I don't think you are pregnant, but you can put your mind at ease by maybe arranging a blood testing appointment for pregnancy with your doctor or nurse.

In all fairness though the symptoms you have are not "typical" or pregnancy.

Well it could be earlier to tell right off, but also you can have a light bleed with the cells are attaching to uterine lining, just give it a few days to a week and take a pregnancy test again and you will have your answer!!!!! Good Luck!!

You are not pregnant. If the doctor is going to put you on anti- depressants you should discuss with him the side effects they may have and how they could harm a developing baby. I would get on a reliable form of birth control (not withdrawal method) so you don't have this added anxiety.

I don't know if you would consider this good news or bad news but the symptoms you are describing do not sound like pregnancy symptoms. The depression can be causing you to miss your period. You should check again with your doctor as to why your period is late and ask him/her about the symptoms you have described.

If the HPTs are negative, then you are probably not pregnant, assuming you have taken them recently (within the last 4-5 days). Good luck with the depression :)
