Most are just seeking opinions and not really seeking answers.

I come here because this is far more interesting and fun (you don't get to see much human nature when googling). Also, if I google something, I'm the only one who gets to experience the answer. If I ask it here, lots of us do!
I am also guessing that many people who ask questions here either
- aren't search engine gurus, or
- perhaps have internet connections that are so slow that perusing several of googles choices to find 'the answer' just isn't practical!

Most of the time, they are looking for things that CAN'T be found on the web - such as personal experiences...

What does get on my nerves sometimes is the pathetically simple questions that can easily be answered by site such Wikipedia - things like "when was born"?

In most of these cases, I still answer anyways - and give the Wiki link in case they want to find out more information on their own ;);)

I used to do that before I knew about answers. It is alot funner here. And also you get better information then having to go through a bunch of websites, it's annoying.

I like hereing everyone elses responces and answering questions myself

google spits out the same info that appears on a gazillion sites. If you want real info, you have to know the corresponding institutions or experts to research. Even wikipedia is questionable - anybody can put their 2 bits on it.

Contrary to popular belief, Google does not hold all the answers to the universe.
Then again....maybe it does....but who can be bothered to sift through ALL those search results?

Because it's better to ask people then a computer. Besides, you're asking here. Why not ask google?
