The trailer showed this guy having a going away party because he was moving away from New York and the the building they were in starts shaking and they think it is a earthquake, but it looks like something is coming out of the ground in the center of the city and then the trailer ended.

Its JJ Abrams' (Lost, Mission Impossible 3) Cloverfield. A new monster movie that is coming out in january 2008. All filmed in the "Cam corder" type of setting, so you feel as if the person filming it as he experiences it.
