what type of transmission oil can I use in a KX 100?
Is the oil soposed to look pink?

You can use any brand name 4 stroke motor oil in the crankcase of a 2 stroke engine.
10w/40 or 20w/50
The pink stuff is a brand of oil, marketed specifically for 2 stroke crankcases.
The same things get lubricated in a 2 stroke crankcase, as a 4 stroke.
The only difference is a 4 stroke lubricates the crankshaft, cylinder, piston & rings and camshaft.
A 4 stroke, if anything, needs more lubricating than a 2 stroke, so special oil specificately for 2 stroke crankcases, makes no sense.
Just use regular motor oil.

easy way is call your local kawa dealership. or go in to the parts dept tell what your got and the year and they will get you the right stuff.
or you can go to denniskirk.com
or motorcyclesuperstore.com
or and motorcycle website and get the right stuff, but its about the same price as going to store
i use hondas hp trans oil 80/85w, on my kx250 and my yz 250
