this happened after i took a dvd out of the dvd player

Actually, it says "no signal," meaning there is no data going into the TV from the box. You probably have the TV on one of the video input channels, not the cable box. Check your remote for a button that lets you change the signal going into your TV, or if there are buttons along the top that say TV, CD or DVD, Cable, or something similar, push the button for the cable signal.

you might have pulled the cable out of the player check it... if not unplug the converter and re plug it in...
