how do i start conversations with others in my english class and how do i keep them going.?

usually when i talk to people i usually either run out of things to say or just try to hurry it up. do you have any tips for me.

People like to talk about themselves. Ask open ended questions so that they can elaborate instead of a simple yes or no answer. Find something to talk about that you can relate to.
