Last night it computer was showing up Drive D (DVD, CDS and stuff), but today it is not showing Drive D on computer and DVD's, Cd's and stuff is not working on my computer. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem without system restore.

It might be that you recently installed some new software and it caused a conflict.

I remember a popular audio editing program which upon install made the cd drive unavailable.

Uninstall, reboot
If the drives don't show up
Open device manager in control panel
Properties of cd/dvd drives
Update driver from default location

You can try checking the System Properties (under system in the control panel)
Click on the Hardware tab then check the Device Manager
and make sure that there are no errors.

sure, there are a few possibilites,

-a wire could be loose
-the drive could be dead
-the drive might not be getting power.

can you open up the drive when windows is on? if so sounds like a loose wire connecting the mobo to the drive. just open up the computer and attach the wire

Reinstall the DVD,CD driver and restart... It should work.
