everyone told me it doesnt matter first or fourth baby, how long your labor is. i say its a bunch of bull! your body knows what to do now, the more kids you have, the more "practice" your body has! my first my labor was only 8 hours, my second only 6; both were induced too!! so im afraid my third (hopefully i can go natural) will be super fast; were even moving closer to the hospital these next few months before im due again. i would say you might expect about 4 hours or so. good luck!! and congrats on baby #4!!!

My first 3 were fairly quick and #4 came out before I even made it onto the bed for pushing. (planned homebirth) Regular contractions started at 2:15pm and she was born at 6pm. I know all women, babies and labors are different but I would think that you could expect a least a little shorter labor if there are no complications.

You should definately go pretty quick once you are in active labor, after 4-5 cms. But should be less than 12 hours!

My doctor says that the more you have, the more LIKELY you are to go faster with each one. Worked for me 20 hrs, the first one, 5 the second, and 3 the third. If you feel the pain, get to the hospital whether your water breaks or not!

I thought they always got shorter too. My first one was 19 hours, my second 15, my third one was 11 hours. However my fourth one was 33 hours! But I felt better and had more energy after the fourth than I did any of the others.

There is always the exception to the rule. However, the majority of the time labor is usually quicker and quicker with each child. And you have proven that with your other children. So, yes, I think it would be safe to assume that your labor will be fairly quick. So, you should be well prepared before your due date just in case you have to make a mad dash to the hospital! :)
