Perception. There are so many different signals out there, and the mind takes (some of) them in, and puts them together to make sense of the world around us. There's so much variation in how individuals perceive things, too. Some people can see sounds. Some people can feel numbers. Some people can't recognize that parts of their bodies actually belong to them. Some people can perceive themselves as outside of their bodies altogether. In more ordinary cases, some people can't see colors, some can't see at all, some can't hear. So everyone's perception is different.
The weirdest thing is that, even though no two people can perceive exactly the same thing, we nonetheless believe there is an "objective reality" out there.

To me, belief in religion has to be the weirdest thing about the human mind.
How a person can put out the energy to reconcile totally incompatible religious beliefs with normal everyday life astounds me.
Even in the early days, before science explained a lot, Occam's Razor would have been enough to convince me that the mysterious was, in fact, simply unexplained natural phenomena.
That people today are so easily bamboozled just scares the hell out of me!
Weirder and weirder, man!

The weirdest thing to me is sometimes trying to block my thinking so other people will not know what I am thinking about. I am certain of mental connection between humans and animals, have too many experiences to prove it.
