There are two tutorials on the net. One is on gamefaqs.com and tells you how to use the poke radar. Other is on youtube and type pokeradar and you will be then taken to a tutorial.
There is no easy way to find a shiny one, many claim that you have to maintain a chain of over 40 to have a remote chance for a shiny to appear. Another rumor is that it does not matter the number of chains, it is simply random. Also have a good stock of over 200 super repels.
I got a chain of 59 with larvitars but never saw a shiny one.
