If I have traffic warrants in Texas, can I get my drivers license in California. I'v never had one before, (thats why I got tickets for) and want one now. If my warrants are with my maiden name, and here in California I use my married name, will it still come up?

Reading the responses confirms what I thought to begint with. The only reason Im asking is because the LA City Attorneys wife got her licence in THE SAME STATE! The DMV said its becaue she used her married name. I gues regular Joes cant get away with stuff like that.

Technically - no. You probably won't succeed because for women, a maiden name is required along with a photographic proof of identity.

Yes, you need to clear up your stuff in Texas before you can get a license in another state.

There could be a bench warrant out for your arrest as well.

Why dont you act like a grown-up and take care of your personal responsibilities?

youll get a letter in the mail. Thats why when you get your license, they give you a temporary one at first, then mail you the real one soon. Instead of getting the real one, youll get a letter saying it was denied because you have a warrant and you have to take care of the warrant first.

While it is possible you will get away with it, it is time for you to be an adult and deal with these issues instead of running away from them.
