very good question. i don't have a good answer.
i would opt to say tho, seeing my daughter doing well with what she does (band, school, etc). it validates me choosing being a single parent when everyone told me i would fail.

Kids.
When I look at my two daughters and I see how amazing they are, I know that maybe.... just maybe I did something right. I know I was blessed with two fabulous kids, but I know that they could have gone in different directions. The fact that they know right from wrong and make good decisions says a lot to me. *sigh*
When I look at the students in my classroom and see how they make such strides... I start to almost puff up with pride. I see how far their writing has come from where it was at the beginning of the year and I think.... wow, they actually have learned something!! I get so proud.
So I guess overall..... it is the effect I have on kids that makes me feel that maybe.. just maybe... I might be truly worth something.

Waking up every morning & knowing I am surrounded by love from others & myself! I feel blessed for the life I have! It's been a long & winding road but, worth every bit of it!
