that is a good question.. and I wish I had an answer for you. Although I am sure you are a bigger fan than me.. I recognize the difference in the publicity for this album from the others. I think she has an amazing voice and she is a BEAUTIFUL woman. As far as Stupid Girls poking fun at celebrity idiots.. that video is hysterical.. and the "celebrities" that took it personal.. well .. maybe they should look at their behavior, cause she hit the nail right on the head. There is nothing wrong with empowering young girls and encouraging them to be themselves..and that is generally the message she sends. Pink rocks... too bad for bubble gum saturation

I agree, I LOVE pink. Some reasons for that might be: that she matured/got married and some of her fans didn't, that the main group for purchasing cd's isnt her fan base anymore. Another reason might be because of downloading, people are more likely to just buy singles over the internet as opposed to going and buying the whole CD at the store. She's such a strong artist I know she'll overcome this little "bump"!

I like pink too, I just think that her style has kind of changed and she is fading as an artist because of all the new celebrities out there. Pink just needs another hit song that will put her back on top, because right now she hasn't had a song that truely stood out since Stupid Girls.

When a celebrity pokes fun at people, especially well known people, they take a chance.IE: Bill Cosby (A good friend of mine) he made certain remarks about his own people (Blacks) and the way they live, their statute in the illegal world and drugs possession along with jail, the way they grow up, etc. He was put down real hard, even when he was correct, people don't want to hear that stuff so, he's paying the price, Just as your own celebrity is doing now.
You don't step on toes without paying the price, the girls from Texas and their views on the Iraq war, etc.

I don't think it has anything to do with what she does. She does seem like a great artist and has been for a while. More and more people are trying to become singers and there's just too many. Girls from the disney channel and whatever. She may have to get into acting or open a clothing line. We'll see..

Honey, don't you read all the posts on YA with these young girls asking if they are too fat, too short, how to be popular, etc? These poor girls idolize idiots like Paris Hilton & other mind-less bimbos who look like walking toothpicks rather than a strong-minded, self-confident, healthy REAL woman like Pink. It's just an example of the sad state of our society today. I'm wondering how many of them will go to jail just because Paris made it look cool. What a bunch of followers.

Personally, artists lose their credibility when they steal: http://youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com/blog3/?p=4
Thats just my reason. But people, no matter their place or position tend to face the brunt of what sells, rather than what it is the truth or hell even art. She hasn't changed labels, nor does her label seem to have any reason to keep her hushed as an artist for fear of upsetting their other artists. Just appears to be a problem with obviously her lyrics, but who, how, or what just appears to be what people really want to listen to in their fantasy world, whether by their own choice or as part of a mediated society. While I was discouraged by the above link, I sympathize for her because voices like hers should truly be heard.

I completely agree! I found I'm Not Dead to be her best album ever! I guess she's finally putting out what she wants, rather than what the record label wants, which isn't necessarily what the consumers want. I really hope she continues with her style though, because I think it's sexier than ever!

actually artists don't make money off of CD's they make them off concerts and touring. Record labels rake in the cash for the CD's. The sell of their CD's is just a good way to know what not to play at their concerts.

I didn't buy it because I thought anything after "Miss Understood" sucked. I didn't like her last two albums and it had nothing to do with songs about celebrities ( in fact, that was the only good song)
You underestimate the preferences of the consumer.
