Who really believes he's going to leave the Yankees? As a Red Sox fan, I'd love to see him playing shortstop in Boston. It's probably unlikely, but wouldnt he be crazy to leave New York?

His base salary for 2008-10 will be 27 million a year. Plus he has a bunch of incentives too. He recently just made an extra 200 thousand dollars--$100K for making the All-Star team, plus an additional $100K for having the most votes.

He can void the contract after this year. He can also void it after 2008 or 2009 unless the Yankees increase his salary in 2009 and 2010 by $5 million, or by $1 million more than the highest paid position player in the majors (other than A-Rod himself, of course).
