try a outside community.
like 3 on 3 hockey, or soccer, or tennis.
or maybe join a camp. i know there is pleaty going on. you could even join up with some of your friends and have a good time together.
if you are of age you may want to consider being a CIT [counselour in training] at a day camp. they are easy, and you can have fun and may even earn some cash and extra curicular hours.
if your not into stuff like that, just doing something productive with your time. maybe shoot a movie, do a project, clean the house, make a slideshow on your computer, go for some walks, anything. try and stay away from the computer as much as you can.
atleast thats what im trying to do.
its summer, party it up'
:]

The best hobby in the world is Amateur radio, because it is an equipping hobby. what I mean by that is that everything you learn in Amateur Radio can help you with other parts of life, even any of your other hobbies! With Amateur Radio I am equipped to provide disaster relief communications, emergency communications and help other people with what I do for fun! And besides that, it is quite cheap to get into, and you only spend as much as you want. Amateur radio is very social; we learn to be outgoing in calling and answering calls all across the states and the world. It's also educational, we learn lots about how things work.
So for your best investment in hobby time, my vote is become a Ham Radio Operator!

My hobbies are graphic design- I'm addicted to the computer program Paint Shop Pro (PSP) and I create and edit graphics and add different effects to them...you can use them to make iron ons for shirts, bags, jackets...or make business cards, greeting cards or posters...the sky is the limit! But I've gotten away from it for a while because I needed to get away from the computer too!
I also make tied fleece blankets. Examples of these can be found at Hancocks or another fabric store. You take two pices of fleece material (one solid and one print) and lay them on top of each other...cut out a 3 in square from each corner...then cut strips that are 3 in long and about 1 in apart. After you have cut all the way around, just tie the top strip to the bottom strip. These make adorable blankets and only take about an hour or so to make!
I also like to make purses from old jeans and embelish them with rhinestones and various little add ons. Just cut off the legs right below the pockets, turn inside out and sew up....and add a cute inside lining. Use the left over parts from the legs to make straps. kids jeans make adorable purses and bags for little girls....adult and jr size jeans make cute adult purses and beach bags!!

Invite friends over and play board games and cards. Learn bridge or poker, that will last you a life time! Meanwhile, try baking, desserts and breads are always interesting to make, and to eat.
Try Origami, you can make cool jewelry with origami, and practice only requires paper you have at home. There are good sites on the web to teach yourself with.

i like painting ceramics. you can find them really cheap at ceramics stores or on ebay. even with shipping you aren't paying unreasonable prices. supplies can be found at walmart or ac moore or michaels. paints go on sale allll the time.
it's great to do bcse you can do a lil or alot at a time.
i buy things for decorations and gifts too.
2 xmas ago i made all my friends ceramic oil burners.
and made my mom these cute lil apple characters with different experssions that i sat in a basket for her to use in her kitchen... she has an apple theme going.
and if you think you can't paint... just start off with lil ones that don't have a lot of detail and work up your skill from there.
enjoy!!!

some ideas----
volunteer somewhere (it'll look good on a college application), paint, draw, read a book, write a story, scrapbook, take up photography, collect something, try running, talk on the phone, read some magazines, try knitting, try sewing, get into a anime/manga (most of which are accessible online), plant something/garden, or go bike riding.
i really suggest going to the public library and skimming the adult non-fiction books in till you find something that catches your eye!

Have you tried scrapbooking? I really like it. There's so much now for the hobby. Plus you can look over your memories at the same time. If you have a lot of picutes, it's perfect. It's a photo album with your own style!
