the head coach has very little say in the schedule its the a.d.
although i think any SEC schedule is tougher than any pac10 schedule, usc has proven they can play with anyone

Yes Miles ran his mouth, but that won't make one bit of difference to Pete and the trojans unless they make the championship game against each other. But it brings it back to the overall discussion over conference strength versus non conference strength.
People have already pointed out that LSU non conference schedule is a joke, then others say that the USC conference schedule is worthless. Let's look at it side by side....if at the end of the season, I were to give you each of these schedules and tell you one team is undefeated and the other has 2 losses...can you honestly tell me who you would choose at the undefeated team:
Idaho
Nebraska
Washington St.
Washington
Stanford
Arizona
Notre Dame
Oregon
Oregon St.
Cal
Arizona St.
UCLA
Miss. St.
Virginia Tech
Mid. Tennessee St.
South Carolina
Tulane
Florida
Kentucky
Auburn
Alabama
La. Tech
Ole Miss
Arkansas
My point: Both teams have tough schedules, but I know that if I wanted to make the National Championship--I would rather be the top team in the PAC 10 than be a top team in the SEC...the chances for a slip up are much greater in the SEC.
By the way....LSU did not dodge Tennessee or Georgia, nor did they try to schedule Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss, or Miss St.--the SEC has a rotating schedule based on division (LSU has to play all the West Div teams and Florida each year and they rotate the remaining 5 east teams over the next 4 years)

The LSU coach know that USC gonna get more publicity than his school . So he's start something negative to get peoples attention, which he got. If you look at USC out of conference schedule every year no cream puff, SEC coach's should not talk about how sorry USC schedual until they can beat usc, which arkansas and auburn from the SEC could not do. I guess if you can't beat'em, talk bad about them.

because he's another arrogant coach who wants to talk smack about a well respected program. which doesn't make sense. he wasn't even the coach at the time when LSU and USC shared national titles. Nick Saban was. easy schedule? miles taking shots at opponents like stanford and washington? you don't see carroll talking about middle tennesse, vanderbilt, or ole miss do ya? plus, so usc took joe mcknight away from their own backyard. it is Tailback U. plus, i think the major that mcknight wanted to do...USC was one of the top schools in the country for that. so miles should shut up, get things done and in january he should be talking...like usc's philosophy...never think ahead, "next practice, next game"

Let it go..it's just preseason smack. "The Hat" should be worried about LSU's schedule, not USC.
LOL...I just looked up LSU's schedule, Les has no room to talk about anyone having things easy. We play Middle Tenn, Tulane and Louisiana Tech out of conference. Throw in Miss. St. and you have four easy, damn near guaranteed wins there.

Nothing personal against USC's schedule, but LSU has Virginia Tech, and they are substantially better then anyone on the Trojan's schedule.

MIles is an idiot they play middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech, and Tulane 3 teams ranked over 100 and he dodged Georgia and Tennessee this year. USC is ranked in the top 10 toughest schedules according to ESPN:

LSU has a given 5 wins because they also have the dominate (sarcasm) KEntycky and OLE MISS on their schedule man that is hard.

trash talking seems to be a necessity in sports. there's very little a school can do about what conference it participates in. in addition, schedules are prepared years in advance. if a team's schedule turns out to be easy, then it's easy.
doesn't really matter for USC because they'd be able to throttle any team in any conference anyway

Lets all hope that both schools live up to their potential and face off (finally). USC's Pete Caroll won't waste his time on this topic. He has too many ex Tiger recruits to train (smiling)....best of luck Tiger Fans. Hoping we see you in 2008 for the Glass!
Fight On!

He's already making excuses about why they wont make it to the big show. As the years go on more and more of Sabans players are leaving. Now is going to have to play with his recruits. Look for the LSU fans to call for his head after 2 more seasons.
