It is certainly a great idea but I think we need to make one more step before we are ready for a "one world government." First, we need to organize regionally like the European Union. Also, it would be a logistical nightmare to find agreement between all the states of the world to create some type of world government. Organizing by region would make this much easier by creating channels through which authority can emanate from the bottom up to ensure effective representation of all peoples. We are likely a long way off from a purely world government but in areas such as trade and security we already have supranational bodies that represent elements of global governance (i.e. the WTO and UN Security Council). The problem is people are too attached to national states and world leaders are apprehensive to give up sovereign control (on which the state system is based) over their territory to a global body that may not incorporate local and national concerns. I do agree though that there are a lot of conspiracy nuts out there complicating things. Most of them reside in the US and have been standing in the way increasing the effectiveness of the UN for years because they feel it is some sort of world conspiracy being cooked up by the world's elite.

Only if I was given complete control. Only way I see it happening is after WW3 there is less people and only one true super power. Look at places like the mideast, some of the African nations and some of the South American countries. Could you imagine the overwhelming military campaign it would take to bring law and order. There is a reason we have many nations on this planet and that is because we all just can't get along.

I really don't think we will get to a single unified country until we have something of impending doom like something out of a sci-fi book to rally all the nations together. It would have to be an us against them kind of scenario.
I think it would come with benefits though we would all share our technologies and bring some of the best minds together from all the nations and probably make leaps and bounds in technological advancements.
But lets not forget the price we would pay. If we did have a single world government it wouldn't be a democracy that's for sure maybe closer to a dictatorship or something lame that would strip us of most of our civil liberties that we have today.

I am sorry but I dont think that would work and it would be completly unfair for those nations that have a good economy. There are small countries like Costa Rica and belice and others but at least tiny countries like Costa Rica worked hard to get what they have and they dont have an army, low crime, they preserve a lot of forests and species on extinction and help others countries like USA to stop the traffic of drugs and illegal ppl, but there are other small countries that costs a lot of problems to USA so it makes no sense if we homogenized the whole world because some countries would get affected.

Agreed... one world government where people of all religions and races have an equal right to health, education and safety. A world government that protects the poor from the rich and the weak from the powerful. One committed to equality and justice and human progress and which allows each group of people to decide for themselves what economic and political system they desire to live under.
Hell yea! but to do that, the world powers need to stop assaulting poor people to steal their resources. THirdwordlers have the worlds's riches any way. If the powers dont want unity, we do.

I've never had a problem with having one world government depending on how that government is structured. What the Soviet Union thought about how a world government would look like wouldn't work for me. I suppose what would work for me would be to start with the US constitution. If all the world agrees, great. The planet should be a safer place. If all the world doesn't agree, much more likely, then I'm lucky to live in good ol' America.

i think of it is because of the fact the priority of humanity floor. As maximum of those 0.33 international countries have the severe by no skill ending socioeconomic issues and easily fewer have organic components, the lenders do no longer prefer to take a place in mineral or oil exploration and create jobs and convey in huge funds. a lot of those 0.33 international countries basically shield residing via elementary agriculture or named as banana republics of inexpensive labour in production. some African countries as quickly as occurred the terrible genocide that ended up with tragic thoughts. i think of the international government would desire to grant extra significant help to the debted 0.33 international for greater training at college point and ability coaching classes and enable them to extra healthful into the remote places-invested marketplace. Why would desire to international government forgive the 0.33 international debt? What the lenders can get? Blood?
