I'll be the first to openly admit, I did do some time and learned my lesson and haven't been back since. Don't plan on going back.

I have never been to prison or arrested but I have been to a police station for an interview when I was a victim of an assault [was also seen by a police surgeon and photographed]. Incidentally as there was no witnesses and the forensics were inconclusive the case was dropped, however the guy did get deported!!!

Once, I was involved with a prison ministry and travelled to Eli in Cambridgeshire with another volunteer to visit one of our clients.
I have been in the cells of Sunderland's main police station ... when I was doing my Duke of Edinburgh award and studied the police as my Service part.
I have been fingerprinted ... when I was burgled and had to have my prints on record so I could be eliminated if my stuff was found.

Strangeways 1982 for refusing to pay a fine for breaking a window. Our local football team was located in a school, come community centre. During the warm up, just before everyone was ready, I lashed the ball at a player, trying to warm his legs up. I missed and it went straight through the dining hall window. One of the biggest on site!. I apologise to the caretaker, giving my name and address for future reference when a price was fixed.
On the Monday I was arrested for criminal damage. I was eventually fined £355, including court costs. After pleading my innocence, the magistrate took no consideration of the circumstances. I swore and refused to pay the extortionate sum. She had no option to but send me down for 90 days. I was handcuffed and was in Strangeways by 5:00pm.
Fortunately, I had caught Hepatitis B, and was literally kicked out after 6 days. It still a nightmare to recall but has served me well. I have kept my nose clean since.
