Long story short, I was an angsty teen during high school without many friends. A lot of this changed as high school was ending and as I realized not to take things so seriously.

I'm gonna be heading off to college this fall and would appreciate some more tips that would help me!

Don't worry about what other people think, be safe, have fun. Actually take your parents advice. Don't be a jerk, Study, get good grades. Separate party from learning and make sure they each get the time they need. Don't go crazy....

Hope this helps.

Be yourself. Be real. Decide who your are and be that person. Think about things before you do them. That is what maturity is all about... Control of the inner child. Take some time out. Do a lot of thinking by your self. Do some reading. Learn why you do things... (That is quite hard) and learn what you truly value. Learn what is truly important. Work on self discipline... but in small steps. Set some goals that you know you can meet. Reward yourself when you succeed. Most of all, find the good in you, and make it grow. Do nice things for people. The outcome of all of this is true happiness... something few actually achieve.

Be responsible for you actions. If you say your going to do something, then do it. Don't get caught up in the old high school drama, like he thinks he's better than me, see if she likes me. That is a lot of crap. Mind your business, make yourself proud of your work and social life, and study so you can carry on an intelligent converstaion.
