Having worked with both, it’s noticeable how neo-cons gather together at work and social events to speak despairingly about liberals. Yet liberals do not cluster together at work or social events to discuss conservatives as a group. Liberals, quite often discuss the acts of individuals.

bugeyes (below) Yet again comparing apples to guitar strings. Organized events are NOT everyday activity such as working and socializing. Great try at deflecting the issue.

Jasmine (below) LOL Maybe you are not a neo-con and just a good old fashioned conservative. They do it too, just to a far lesser extent.

knowitnot (below) good points. We are opposites of the same coin.
I appreciate some conservative stances AND I appreciate some liberal stances. To neo-cons (not true conservatives), this makes me 100% liberal.

To be honest, this is one of the few forums I participate in where it seems as if the conservative side is the most predominant. Generally I have found that the more liberal ideology is shared by the majority of the group, and there are just a few vocal conservatives.
In real life, the people I work with and socialize with rarely, if ever, discuss politics. When they do, we all generally have a moderate to liberal stance. With one glaring exceptiong though: Although I am no fan of Bush, I worked with one guy who hated Bush so much he started irritating me by constantly yelling about him being an idiot.
In college it was much different. Seems like most people felt they had to "pick a side" and become very vocal over their opinion. Generally they adopted wholesale the party platform of whichever side they associated with. I tended to hang out with a slighly liberal to moderate crowd, although I did date a honest to goodness communist for a short time. She was fun!
The same was somewhat true for high school as in college, but no one had the slightest clue what they were talking about ;)

your experiences are your experiences so no one can argue with that. my concern is that BOTH sides have extremists that are as equally guilty of being ignorant and hypocritical. for every neo con group you see gathering to discuss the "enemies" , someone else sees a group of those "libs" advocating say the movie Sicko and how great it would be. it would be nice to see folks open minded enough to actually compromise and work to the common good. for instance i support the war (generally a conservative view) but i'm ok with gay marriage (generally a liberal view). .

Chi Guy your over use of the word Neo-con shadows any points you make. Do us all a favor and research what the meaning of neo-conservatism is. Neo-cons are merely liberals who were mugged by reality. BTW I see liberals such as yourself here everyday bashing conservatives so you fit the definition of a neo-con IMO.
Good day!

And so while all this is going on, you are spending your life sitting around watching?
Get a life! Live yours. Stop worrying about what the dreaded neocons are talking about.
I do not even care what Liberals are talking about. Unless it has something to do with me. And even then, only to the extent I think they are trying to do me personal harm.
And none of the neocons I hang out with are trying to do you personal harm.

I think you have that a bit backwards. You're here online - during the day, and have been all week, discussing "neo-cons". While we may congregate and discuss pertinent issues of the day, believe me, we don't waste our time discussing Liberals - it is not worth wasting the time doing. Perhaps you should look in the mirror, then ask your question.

yeah, it's true.
if you watch fox news, listen to rush limbaugh and a host of other obvious right wing shill broadcasters - they want to make every story about liberals.
no matter what is being discussed, they want to somehow make it about liberals.
yours is a good point.
cons will go on and on about how it seems that many have only bashing bush as their only point of view (something that i've never noticed) but they themselves do nothing but speak of how every issue is somehow related to their political foes.
