I'm sick of hearing!, watching!, reading! all reports of these bad apples, NFL Players, Millionairs!! who go out into public places and fail to make it back to their multi-million doller home's without being involved with a shooting, stabbing, driving drunk, or being with the wrong people at the wrong places.
These are Grown Men!!!!, their god given talent has lead them to live in the publics eye and be PAID Riddiculous amounts of $ to entertain US. If at the NFL level... they lack the COMMON SENSE to make a simple! Conscious! Decision to stay away from any activity, person, or situation that is Illegal, or puts anyone at risk of injury or harm, the NFL should make it 3 strikes..., if it involves an Illegal act that puts ANYONE (including themeselves) at risk of serious injury or death, and your OUT!... FOREVER!!!! If they want to act like a common street thug... Put them on the street!!
They can watch the Players who use their common sense on Sundays with the rest of us!!

Gambler. In no way.. in my question did I insinuate that NFL players who were in trouble, had anything to do with the color of skin. Last time I checked anyone, anycolor, has the ability to choose trouble or walk away from it. They are Professionals, they should live up to it.
KC DE Jared Allen, hangs out down on the Plaza at the upscale hotspots, I drive the same roads&Interstate as he does, He's had 3 DUI since joining the KC 4 yrs ago. It has cost him a big time contract and a 4 game suspension starting this year, He has lost his driving priveledges in MO. guess what. he's a big white boy and if he gets caught drivin drunk around my area again..Send that big boy packin back to where he came from! I don't care who he is, Black or White! he could break Derrick Thomas's sack record here in KC, if he's out drivin&drinkin on the same Roads as my family, I'd rather see him sent packin.. Remember "Lennord Little" of the Rams, killed a Lady drivin home from work, It can happen!! TO ANYONE

Couldn't agree more. These guys are living the dream. They actually get PAID to play a sport! They get countless additional millions in endorsements and adds. Still.....they can't seem to stay out of trouble with the law. Sure you have your gun toating, bouncer beating, wife ravaging thugs. But then you have the one's who are just plain STUPID! If you're making $1-$5 million a year for playing football, why go out partying and then drive yourself home? Why not rent a limo? Why not have your friend drive? I just don't get it. My plan? Anybody found guilty of a felony gets an automatic 8-game suspension without pay. 2nd felony = out for 16 games, which applies to next season if there aren't enough games left this season. 3rd felony? Find a new job!

PS: Ladainian Tomlinson is the greatest football player in the NFL today. But he gets my vote for his conduct off field. One of the classiest guys you will EVER meet. Donates not just money to the youths of San Diego, but his time too. NEVER to busy to sign an autograph or pose for a photo. The rest of the NFL could learn a lot from him as a man, not just a player.

NFL players and lots of celebrities have always done things they shouldn't have. There are two reasons why they get in trouble. 1. More celebrities and players are getting caught now cause there may be less corruption in law enforcement. 2. It's harder to cover up the things they are doing now because they are getting more and more outrageous. It's really getting out of control!

I think certainly there should be maybe AT LEAST a "3 Strikes" philosophy...on the third strike, they are suspended by the league for the year, PERIOD...At some point, the players have to grow up and stop getting into so much trouble...I don't care if they were stars in college...This is the NFL...

Well they should do that but only when it's a really bad thing. Things like Pacman Jones are what Im saying but people like Tank Johnson who has done no harm dont deserve that.

I DO THINK THIS IS NECESSARY.

It is ridiculous that players think that just because they have lots of $$$ they can do whatever they want. They think that they can buy their way out of trouble.

If players are punished, the crime in sports will go down so that they can keep their jobs.

no. let the punishment fit the crime. If they are out and just above the limit of blood alcohol, first time offense, I dont believe you should take away their livlihood.......
