It sounds like you may have to make an application to the court to reform the child support award. Depending on the laws of the state, you will probably have to put forth some evidence of a change in circumstances that justifies the increase.

Hey Valerie, as someone with experience here I can tell you that the amount of money you make doesn't factor in at all when it comes to what he will have to pay for his child. Can the amount he pays increase? Yes it can, his ex can take him back to court every 2 or 3 years depending upon the state you live in and whether or not she knows about this. Good luck on receiving the money you owe and good luck with his support too!

Oh and then you need more after that and then someday he doesn't owe child support anymore cause the kids have grown up and have thier own kids..BANG you are so screwed! What ya really needs ta do is not be depending on the child support so much and figure out without adding that source in! Cause its not a permannet source of income for you and don't go telling me every cent goes to the children. The only way I would accept that is if you saved the entire amount of child support and gave it to them for college after the checks quit coming. Yeah thats gonna happen. the underlying issue here is things cost too much and noone does anything about that. Wages don't keep up with inflation so we make less every year while prices climb without restraint. Asshole Millionaires figure out how to save more and make more money and its gotta come from somewhere: The poor people.

Go back to court, keep in mind that the amount of child support you receive is based upon both YOUR income and your ex's income. It usually rounds out to just about 1/3 of the ex's income....It is not for YOU to live on but to be able to supplement YOUR income in order to provide a roof over you childrens' heads and food etc. His lack of visitation really has no bearing on the issue at all and figure that you are vindictive in your motive otherwise there would be no need to post the lack of visitaiton on his part.

You willhave to petition the court for a remodification hearing for child support. In court you will have to prove your ex has gotten a substantial raise increase or come into a great dealof money to show just cause why the Judge should increase your support payments. Just because you need more money is no justifiable excuse

Check in the state that the order was issued. You can have a review done after so many years. They determine what he pays based on what you make, what he makes, any daycare and medical expenses ect. Just call the support office and ask for a review if the time limit has expired. Good luck.

Not sure if every state differs, but the best thing to do is call the agency where you receive the CS from and ask them. Better to go straight to the source than hear by random people..... Good luck.

You go back to the court (family court or whatever) that you got the order from and ask to have it changed. They will look into what reasons you give for the need.

Its a percentage of his pay. You can only go after more if he won the lottery, got a job that paid 10 times more and so on
