I play basketball too. Point Guards need to lift weight just like everyone else on the team. You should go to the gym and figure out how much is the right weight. Have a trainer help you with that. Work out at least 3 times a week.
Have Fun!

What up hoopstar, Weight lifting helps increase your range- although you have to be careful how you intersperse shooting and lifting. Weightlifting can also give you a little bit more upper body strength which helps because sometimes opposing teams with larger guards will try to post you up- so it'll give you a bit more strength. It can also help you finish around the hoop especially enduring some contact to get an And 1! Hope that helps. Kindly, Nickster

Yes. If anything, point guards need to be stronger, pound for pound, than the other 4. Lift for strength and explosive power, especially during the off-season.

yes every player on the team needs to lift and how much doesnt really matter if you feel the burn you should try to max out every month the basic lifts are power cleans = explosiveness squats = leg muscles bench press = look good when its time to put that jersey on

Yes they should. Of course it depends how much. Where to train would be a better question. Work in the Triceps as that is your primary shooting muscle. In addition do things like lunges, squats, leg presses, etc to develop the strength and endurance in your legs to run and jump over a long period of time.

try to get away from lift as possible. Trust me, i play for JV and going to varsity and lifting weights wont help you as much as it does towards other sports.

Of course they should lift, don't exactly have to max out, but strengthen your legs, so you can jump higher and run faster.
