It's sad that there are people who believe that there was a hoax. Just looking at some of the conspiracy "evidence" above, I shake my head in disgust that our educational system has failed us so. To someone literate in science, the conspiracy argument is laughable because it becomes clear that the very evidence that conspiracy theorists cite, like the black sky, only proves conclusively that we went to the Moon.
But I'm starting to learn that there's no point in arguing with them. The conspiracy crowd, in general, doesn't want to hear that the government isn't lying to them. Hoax advocates don't research their allegations, and come across as fools because their claims contradict even basic scientific principles.
If there are any open-minded conspiracy theorists out there, please do yourself a favor and look at my source. It uses science, not bad common sense, to refute the conspiracy argument.
--- addendum ---
Rooney: do some research about the Van Allen radiation belts. Scientists (including James Van Allen, the scientist who discovered the radiation belts) have calculated that the radiation exposure of the astronauts was far too low to cause them harm. See my second source for a professional astronomer's mathematical analysis.
Yet another conspiracy argument based upon bad science...

There are many theories why people thought the moon landing was fake. All are easily explainable.
Here's a couple.
People question why there aren't any stars in photos of astronauts on the Moon. They can ask themselves the same thing after taking a picture under a street light at night. No stars will appear in that picture either because the camera is set to expose the lighted area (the person standing under light) and not the weaker light source. The stars were too dim to pick up.
We all know the Moon has no atmosphere so the US flag shouldn't flap in the wind yet people claim that it did. However the flag only waved when an astronaut was holding onto the pole the flag was on. There were metal rods in the flag so it didn't just hang there but it did move when the pole was handled.
EDIT:
How do know where the moon rocks came from? Particles of fresh glass in were found in the Moon rocks that were produced by explosive volcanic activity and by meteorite impacts over 3 billion years ago. The presence of water on Earth rapidly breaks down volcanic glass in only a few million years. These rocks must have come from the Moon. Also Apollo moon rocks are peppered with tiny craters from meteoroid impacts. This could only happen to rocks from a planet with little or no atmosphere... like the Moon. If you don't believe it There are plenty of museums, including the Smithsonian and others, where members of the public can touch and examine rocks from the Moon.

I am not saying that they did not land on the moon, however you make some weak arguments:
Explain the American Flag
Have you personally seen the "American Flag" on the moon?
Explain Moon Rocks
How do you know where they came from?
Explain all the videos, pictures, spaceships, spacesuits.
It is believed that it was filmed in a studio.
Why do people think we never landed on the moon?
The reason they would fake a mission, is to win the space race also linked to the (cold war).
Some scientist say that the conditions on the moon would be too harsh for the old space suits to withstand the climate change and radiation.
Why has it taken so long for us to go back to the moon to set up any real sort of comunication link or even an observatory (is planed by NASA - I think).
I don't have all the facts however, to refute an argument that states that a government has been feeding you lies, by taking only statements and visuals provided by the same govenment in question is not a strong statement. (sort of like If I said the sky was green, because I said so)

unfortunately there are those out there that no matter what the subject, if the federal government was involved they believe it was fake, a hoax, underhanded. However, I choose to believe that the USA has persons living here that have the ability to think outside the box. They use their imagination to see a task, and use science to accomplish it. On a funnier note remember there are those out there that believe Elvis is still alive and at a stuckey's in Phoenix cooking. LOL.

Who knows?
People used to think the Earth was flat.
Then they thought it was the center of the universe... then of the solar system.
Peiple used to think stars were only holes in a curtain through which the sun shown.
Some people learn.
A little questioning is healthy. But only asking questions that elicit responses that support ones own, ideas, denying evidence only because one disagrees with it, requiring opponents to prove their point while denying the need to prove ones own point... is a little archaic. Most of that went out with the middle ages... although some religions still processes information that way.

The fact is that the same people who believe the moon hoax thing are also the same people who ask "why doesn't the shuttle fly to the moon?".
Armed with that kind of ignorance, people believe anything.

This subject has been driven into the ground time and time again. Some people just have thick heads and refuse to believe, even in the face of physical evidence located in Washington, DC.

Why did we got the moon? To prove to the world we were the best? To show up the russians?
Has anyone heard of the radiation belt?
For those who believe without a doubt that we landed on the moon, I suggest you search the web for info on the radiation belt.
...always remember, we are always kept in the dark to a certain extent when it comes government activities. Always.

we landed on the moon to cause exactly this situation, making the world laugh about us not even remembering our own outstanding achievements, and also laugh about most peoples 'sandbox science'
yeah guys ...you rule
instead we talk about conspiracy, fake, hoax...
if you guys think in conspiracy about the government, then think about why a democracy has ELECTIONS.
just from statistics i can tell you that its quite outstanding that SUCH a hughe conspiracy as many of you believe it was does not even have the SLIGHTES glitch.

Explain the flag waving on the moon (no wind there!).
Moon rocks and Earth rocks are the same.
Hollywood sets.
Explain why no observatory or the government wants to point a telescope at the moon and prove the skeptics wrong by allowing them to view all the stuff left on the moon with their own eyes. They won't do it, because it probably isn't there.
