For the past few months (I would say 2-3), my left eye has been swollen. Then it got back to normal then got swollen again at least 3 times. At the doctor, he just said it was allergies and gave me eye drops. However, spring is over. I don't understand why my left eye is still swollen. I use warm compresses but it doesn't help as much. If I wait it out, it gets back to normal but then the next day or two days after, it's swollen again. It happens to my right eye to but goes away quickly in the morning. Could it be because I don't get enough sleep? Or is it just allergies? Could it be a possible infection?

no, your doctor is right, allergies happen all year long, not just in the spring, and various pollens cause it usually in the spring and summer, but indoor allergens include things like common house dust, pet dander and so on. You will get best results if you use cold compresses, not warm, to reduce the swelling, and keep using the drops the doctor gave you. It may also help you to take Claritin once a day, it blocks the allergic response in the entire body.
