the cook a ticket, they will do stuff to his food. He said you wouldn't believe the stuff they do to cops' food if they know it's for a cop. Have any of you ever heard of this before, or is he just being paranoid?

Sadly there are lots of people who do this type of thing. I think it happens if they go sit down and order in uniform as well. Most of our local cops go to places where they can see the food prepared, if they are in uniform. These morons where I live do it to the prison guards too just because they have similar uniforms

No, its actually pretty true, SOMETIMES. My best friend's dad is a cop and he only goes out eating without he's cop uniform. When a cop goes to a store where you can pick up snacks like a 7-11 its ok cause no one touches their food, but at a restaurant some cooks mess with the cops' food out of joking not out of hating cops.

no its not just being paranoid. My husband used to be a cop, and now works at a prison. I worked there for a year and a half, and was amazed at the inmate I ran into on the street. Now personally, we both have never had a problem with anyone, but we also treated them like human beings. Allot of people don't, and it can be worse for police, because we live in a very "f*** the pigs" society. Since I have run into inmates everywhere, from my new job to the emergency room, I can't imagine if I had been the arresting officer. Allot of people who commit crimes take a very narcissistic point of view. They don't think of it as "I was doing something I shouldn't have" they look at it as "That a**hole popped me for nothing". Once there was this guy that was our waiter, and was being rude. Once our food arrived my husband told me not to eat it, because he remembered where he had seen the guy before, he had popped him for a DUI. The guy ended up losing his license. Sure enough, looking closer at the food, there was spit, at least that what I tell myself it was :)

Everbody likes cops, except when the system affects them in a negative way.
Nobody likes getting speed tickets, because cops now use lazer instead of radar, so we cant even detect when they're coming up that often anymore.
I dont like that they send small time drug dealers to prison. I don't promote that, but I dont hate them.
Most feel that they should spend their time catching real criminals, instead of petty crimes.

So no, hes not being paranoid, just smart and cautious. There are tons of places that will spit in cops burgers.

I've heard of it before and frankly it doesn't take a mental stretch to realize that some people may take it as the time for revenge for that speeding ticket. In fact many movies have made fun of that specific type of incident. Watch Super Troopers and Farva trip out at the fast food restraunt and how the people working there treat him, it's hilarious!

Unfortunately it is true. People can be really stupid when it comes to law enforcement. Everybody hates cops until they are in trouble and need one. Not long ago a kid was arrested for hawking and spitting into a cop's hamburger. Luckily the cop noticed it before he ate it.

Grosses me out to just think of it.

Yes, it's true ... it's SICK but it's true. Your friend isn't being 'paranoid' but is just stating a 'fact of life' for cops. That may give you a 'better idea' of how DIFFICULT life can be for a cop, and perhaps give you more 'respect' for them when you see them in uniform.

Not only do people think it is "funny" to do stuff to their food, some people have real animosity toward cops. So, no he is not just being paranoid; he is being smart.

Oh yeah. I've heard of this many times. My friend was a cook at a diner and they hated the police. I guess it just comes with the territory. But at least you get to drive really fast and harass people. :)

It's true, unfortunately. I've seen it happen. People are stupid, and think they're being funny by spitting in cop's food and stuff. It's so moronic.
