I saw a story about this the other day. Some hacker guy calling himself Gabriel claimed that he stole the book seven and that in the end Hermoinie dies to save Ron. He goes onto say that the whole reason he hacked the book and is telling everyone that is because the HP books are evil and he wants to spoil the surprise for everyone. I think he is just a creep and is just making it up for attention.

Nobody except Rowling and a very small group at the publisher actually knows. They may even be deliberately starting misleading rumors, but I doubt it. I suspect the rumors are getting out on their own.
If the statemtn by another answerer that 2 major characters die in vol 7 is right, I'm betting on Voldemort and Snape. I've had a theory for some time that Snape is going to prove he's on the right side by getting killed in some heroic way. It hasn't happened so far, but I might as well stick with it.

Forget everything that JK Rowling hasn't said personally. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows is being kept under wraps. Almost nobody knows what's going to happen in the book excpet for JK Rowling and her editors. Sorry, you'll just have to wait intill July 21, 2007 to find out what happens like the rest of us.

According to a trusted source of mine ( :) ) at the hot dog eating contest (shown on ESPN July 4) a contestant flashed a sign with the words "Hermione Dies" on it.
As any 'fan' of the Harry Potter tales knows, rumours of what is going to happen in the final book have run rampant from the day 'Half Blood Prince' was released (if not even before..)
The ONLY people who know what will actually happen are...J.K. Rowling and her editor. She has even said that her family does not know, and they will not until the book comes out. Now..I can just imagine the tantrums being thrown in that household...and that's only by her husband...LOL! She must be a whizz at hiding their Christmas presents...I refuse to listen to rumours, but that doesn't stop me from wondering...

I didnt see a video about it but, some guy claimed to hack into the publishing house's computer and saw the book and in it, Hermione is killed by Voldemort and Hagrid is killed by Snape..I am totally hoping the guy is lying. If you google something like "Gabriel hacks into Harry Potter" it should bring you to the article..

I haven't heard that, J.K. Rowling has only said that "two important characters are going to die." There are a lot of rumors about Harry Potter and just because you've heard it from someone doesn't mean it's true; it could be any two important characters. I think one of them is Voldemort.

It wasn't on video, it was online. It's a hoax, anyway. If it does end up happening, it would have been a lucky guess, not because of finding actual documents.
