Yeah it was pretty embarassing. I was 14 years old and my mom was yelling at me for getting a D in science or something like that. She was really yelling so I just lost it and told her to shut the **** up. She just grabbed my ear, pulled me over to the sink and washed my mouth out with soap.

Actually yes unfortunately. I had to be about 5 or 6 years old at the time. And it was that horrible red soap called Lava. I don't even know if they make that soap anymore! (This was the '70's). It was horrible....I'll never forget it.

No, but almost. Way way back in the 2nd grade(early 60's) the teacher was into doing that, when she went out of the room, she could hear us through the intercom. Somebody did something to me that made me blurt out something involuntarily. Of course she heard it and asked who it was. The kids said it was me. I got hysterical because I didn't want soap in my mouth. So I didn't. Its interesting that we thought she was such a nice teacher, looking back on it, she really wasn't.

I never understood this tradition. What kind of psycho would force anyone to wash their mouths with soap?

omg, yes when I was little, it was the bar soap & chunks got stuck to my teeth - I hated that - you best believe I never said those words again (not around my parents anyway, lol)
