I hear alot of things here.
As to "evolutionary psycholgy" and its findings to date, some even got it on backwards? (berickf)

It stil doesnt answer my question.
Some even believe that 'badguys' are a teenage fase for girls.
I always kept an open mind for it not to be true.
But even so that its really in the girls nature to like bad guys. To seek trouble, And it will never change. Even when they grow "wiser"
Growing wiser and acting differently doesnt say anything about real inner desires.

Simple...Passivity.
If a woman waits for a man to approach her, then the only requirement she has is that he be horny...And then it helps him if he's a liar...
Then if another, decent guy sees them, he might think, "ahh, she likes JERKS..." and wont talk to her later because he thinks she's "not his type."
Social institutions are not to blame, it is either the lack of aggressiveness in "good men" or the lack of discrimination of women who are satisfied with who ever will pursue THEM, and save them the trouble and potential embarrassment of rejection...The culprit is LAZINESS and COMPLACENCY.

Women hold the power of choice, and if they don't use it, then they just end up with whoever tells them what to do, and scares them enough to keep them from arguing...

Plus, with a permissive "non-culture," there's no social structure or taboos to stand between the sexes, there is nothing to test the strength of their character or love for one another...But y'know, whatever...

Whatever indeed...

Well, if you look at our primate cousins as models, what you'll see is that the alpha male, typically the strong brooding type that you are describing, rules over his group of ladies... and the females' attraction to him is actually quite shallow and more politically aligned. All the females know that if they can trick this brute into thinking that he is central to their life and their reproduction that it will reap dividends, especially for their children. In reality however, these same lady-primates sneak off with the more gentle or intelligent males in the troop and will copulate on "the sly" during their most fertile periods. It is also observed that after copulating with an admired male that the female will become dormant after copulation so that the sperm have a chance to work their way into her, where as if the female really doesn't like the alpha male she may not give his sperm the same assistance after copulation. Frequently by the time that the Alpha male gets his way the female she has already found her guy on the sly and finished the deed anyways, and in fact DNA studies are now showing that in some troops unliked Alpha males actually have a lower reproductive success then some of the mid ranked males who are great groomers, babysitters or food sharers. Also the alpha males typically die younger because they are so busy fighting and protecting other males' children and their mothers. So to all the tough guys out there... keep an eye on your ladies because their may be a better groomer on the sly, hint hint!

Hey, my answer is not "backwards", what I'm trying to point out is that things are not what they appear on the surface and when you look at the primate models, what appears to be "reality" (dominance and preference for the Alpha male) is not what is "actually" taking place when tested via DNA studies. In other words, I think that suggesting that "women like jerks/macho types" as a model in humans, is actually also just an illusion and that, like in primates, there are alterior motives and covert actions to negate it. Just because humans are better at concealing, does not mean that similar emotions are not in play! Most the time when a worthwhile women actually settles down, it isn't with the jerk/macho man, so where is the disconnect between where she started and where she finnished because it's obviously NOT "hardwired". Even if a woman were to marry the "Alpha male" (usually the ones that fluked into some money) there is still no guarantee that the children are his, some women desire a physical presence to feel protected and to share in his success, just as it is with other primates, but when they look for genes for their offspring these same primates frequently go elswhere. How about you find all the jerk men that are married with kids and do a DNA paternity study and see what the results are and see if they support the conclussions that can be drawn from primate models? Anyways you said "any explanation... Set your mind free" and then you slam my answer in your details, which is just rude. This is a legitimate answer and I have also done a lot of Primatological studies, so I'm just talking about my own personal observations of some of our closest relatives (in evolutionary terms) and how they operate in the REAL world vs shallow discriptions that do not break the surface of reality and are not supported by the empiricle evidence. Using primate examples is nothing new in tackling questions like yours, and I would expect more then the comment that you offered as my words were and still are very applicable.

They have no respect for themselves. This is unfortunate. Low asteam. Some look for excitement and get a reality check when they are in deep. They many have been brought up in a bad situation where abuse was the norm. Instead of changing the course they keep on the same road, because they don't know any different. They need a reality check and help to see that life can be different.

This is simple. Many womens are looking are the primitive sides of a male before the modern ones. Mostly caused by their lack of maturity, and understanding of males in general.
So the situation is this, when women are young, they like bad boy most, and when they grow up figuring out that those bad boys were pure garbages, they begin to shift their taste toward other more reliable qualities.

I do have encounter a lot of girls that did not like good man, but were addicted to the bad ones... I was a good man and have remain on the bench a lot of years because of this primitive attitudes. I guess it goes with the amount of hormons in a body. Anyways I do like bad girls too...;)

It's really not. It's a cultural construct. First off, the US in particular likes its rebels. James Dean, rock stars in general, whoever. We like bad@sses, so of course teenaged girls are going to pick up on that and fall for them.

Teenaged girls usually grow out of this, though, just as teenagers grow out of all sorts of stupid behaviors. Just because someone no longer drinks until they're sloppy-drunk every weekend doesn't mean they've repressed their desire to. Often, it just means that they're kind of tired of it. It's the same with sexual preferences. A teenaged girl may (it doesn't always happen) buy into the "jerks are awesome, you can save them and be the love of their life" myth, and may date a bad boy or two. But with increased experience comes knowledge that she's worth more than dealing with that nonsense. She grows up.

Women's mating habits seek genetic diversity, for the strengthening of the species...

The most extremely diverse genes which she can attract, can fertilize a woman's egg favorably, resulting in the phenomenon known as 'Hybrid vigor"

It sure seems to be true but probably not in all cases. Since these types don't make good husband / fathers, it is hard to explain. Perhaps the previous answer was right.

Which women are you referring to? I certainly am not hardwired to like sin-sick guys.

Could it be that there are enough jerks and etc to match the women to whom you are referring - they each deserve the other??
