Who's denied liberty or justice? There is nothing preventing gays to marry, share property, have wills, etc. The gvmt treats gays and straights equally. It will only recognize marriages if they are of the opposite gender. This applies equally to you and me.

To say that the outcomes aren't right, that gays are denied gvmt benefits is like saying the rich are denied welfare benefits, or are taxed differently than other people.

As much as I hate the gvmt to play with social engineering, these are the rules, and gvmt doesn't change quickly. Is it wrong? Sure, but so is having the gvmt plan our retirement, health care, and education. These should be ours to determine what's best for ourselves. But until then, these are the rules we live by.

Great question! Thus far, as a nation those words have been more of a goal than a descrption. I hope in my lifetime we will see them begin to take shape as a fair description of who we are. I guess time will tell.

I would encourage more straight folk like myself and others to get involved in this struggle. There is one great truth we must never forget in this country. Until all citizens have equal rights, no citizen's rights are safe.

in all honesty I think the US is run by a bunch of big headed self absorbed retards who don't quite understand HOW to interpret the Constitution and our rights as citizens.

We will never. Our society breeds classes, restricts liberties and propagates injustice. Revolution?
